Deployment Requirements

This section outlines the site, power, backhaul, and environmental requirements for deploying Karrier One Cellular radios, specifically the FW-600 and FW-300i.

Meeting these requirements ensures optimal signal performance, high network uptime, and eligibility for rewards through the Karrier One Dashboard.

πŸ“¦ Supported Models

Model
Coverage Type
Use Case

FW-600

180Β° sector-wide

Commercial zones, campuses, rooftops

FW-300i

60Β° directional

Urban streetscapes, plazas, venues

πŸ“ Mounting & Physical Requirements

Ensure that the mounting surface or pole:

  • Is stable and rated for outdoor equipment

  • Can support the weight and wind load of the radio

  • Allows for clear line of sight (LOS) to the target coverage area

Mounting Recommendations:

  • FW-600: 8–10 meters elevation, rooftop or pole

  • FW-300i: 6–8 meters elevation, wall or pole facing target zone

⚑ Power Requirements

Model
Power Type
Typical Power Draw
Surge Protection Required

FW-600

PoE++ (802.3bt)

~50–60W

βœ…

FW-300i

PoE+ (802.3at)

~30–35W

βœ…

⚠️ Use shielded outdoor-rated Ethernet for all connections and install in-line surge arrestors on long cable runs. Radios must be properly grounded to prevent electrical damage or safety hazards.

🌐 Backhaul Requirements

Model
Ethernet Port
Recommended Uplink
Min Bandwidth
Max Latency

FW-600

1 x 1GbE or 2.5GbE

Fiber or enterprise wireless

100 Mbps sym.

≀ 50ms

FW-300i

1 x 1GbE

1GbE fixed line

50 Mbps sym.

≀ 70ms

Ensure stable, low-latency connectivity. Avoid using basic residential connections unless business-grade quality is guaranteed.

🌍 Environmental Notes

To ensure consistent long-term performance:

  • Maintain clear LOS to coverage areas

  • Avoid mounting near dense foliage, metal walls, or glass structures

  • Ensure good airflow around the unit (avoid enclosed boxes or vents)

  • Radios are outdoor-rated, but avoid corrosive environments (e.g., salt spray, chemicals) unless proper weather sealing is in place
